Empty Hand Katas

Shinken Kan and the United Ryukyu Kempo Alliance study 12 empty-hand katas which encompass the fullness of our teachings. The purpose of kata is to exercise a habit that's consistent with the behaviors we want to develop. These katas have been preserved in their truest state and hold value in all aspects of our life. The truth is revealed in our kata through using the human body to articulate what is in our mind, heart, and spirit.
